Blackbody
Short Guide: Thermal Imaging in the Historic Environment, published, on 1 March 2015 by Historic Environment Scotland, defines a blackbody as: ‘A theoretical object which is in perfect thermal equilibrium – all incident radiation is absorbed and emitted with 100% efficiency. As a perfect radiator it neither reflects, nor transmits, radiation.’
